Reflections on Psalm 34:8 | Fasting will lead to Feasting

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

There is so much I miss about not meeting together in worship every Sunday. The one thing I miss the most however, is partaking of the Lord's Supper with God's people. While we are thankfully able to sing, hear God's word and even give our tithes and offerings online, we are not able to share in Communion. This is indeed something we need to lament and grieve over. In a way, we are in a season of fasting. But our fasting will not last forever. Lord willing, the fasting will soon be over and it will yield a time of feasting. In the meantime, we cry out to God, “How Long oh Lord,” and we long for the day when we will be able to taste and see God's goodness in a very tangible way. Because that's what Communion does for us. As we eat and drink of the body of Christ, we are reminded of God's goodness to us everyday. We proclaim His death until He returns! So whether we eat and drink together again in person here on in the new heavens and new earth, we will keep looking forward to that day when we will feast in the house of Zion. Sandra McCracken captures this in this song.

Christ is Risen - Let's Dance About It!

We are working on a special project to connect our congregation and help us celebrate Easter! We need your help to make it happen! Please record you and/or your family dancing to this song, and email it to Laini Huffine. Have fun with it! The dance does not have to be choreographed (though you are welcome to do that!) - feel free to just turn on the music and let the spirit move you! We need as many people as possible to do this, so don’t be shy and send your videos to Laini by Monday, April 6. ALL AGES ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!

On-Line Gatherings

The leadership of New City East Lake wants to provide everyone with as many opportunities as possible to gather online for prayer, bible study, and fellowship. In order to obtain information and attend any of these Gatherings, please access our website here.  Click on a particular card title for more info. We recommend downloading Zoom for the best video chatting experience.  A list of our current small groups is located here.  We are in the process of updating our website to include click-on access to small groups but until then, please contact Gustavo.
